Beginning this September, Titan Comics is thrilled to announce it will be working with Games Workshop® to publish brand-new comics based in the world of Warhammer 40,000™.

C'est Titan Comics qui s'en occupe. Je laisse les amateurs en parler, les comics n'étant pas franchement ma tasse de thé.

Titan Comics n'est pas très connu en France, sauf de quelques amateurs (et encore, AMHA !). Après, c'est pas tant la maison d'édition qui me préoccupe ou m'interpelle, mais l'équipe chargée des scénarios et du dessin, qui peut donner des productions très variables quel que soit l'éditeur. Même - ou surtout - chez des mastodontes comme Marvel, où une série a pu cartonner sur une storyline et se retrouver à l'abandon à celle d'après parce que l'équipe créative avait tourné au bout de 6-10 tomes - c'est habituel - et que le public conquis sur un démarrage n'accroche pas aux réalisations suivantes ! Après, les goûts et les envies...

 

Pour ma part, je pense que l'initiative peut être intéressante. Étant plutôt fan de BD et de comics, j’irai jeter un œil curieux sur les premières publications. Mais je me souvient surtout de quelques essais publiés chez Soleil (WH, de mémoire, en 6 tomes) qui m'avaient laissé un sentiment fortement mitigé - pour être poli.

ON notera qu'il y a déjà eu des comics et graphic novels dans les univers warhammer, dont certains directement publiés par la Black Library (comme l'excellent Daemonifuge), et d'autres par BOOM! Studios (comme Damnations Crusade).

Comme indiqué, la qualité d'un comics tient surtout des auteurs et de leurs dessinateurs (comme toute bande dessinée au final) et peu de l'éditeur.

En effet, si les comics WH40K avaient été publiés chez DC ou Marvel, ça n'aurait pas été un gage de qualité pour autant.

 

Bref, je suis moyennement confiant quand on voit déjà la qualité discutable de certains romans dans l'univers 40K
