As the Warhammer 40,000 Open Day draws to a close, attendees were treated to one last surprise – a compilation of action-packed animation from the freshly forged Warhammer Media team… Some of this you may have already seen. Some are early proofs of concept, or “what if?” material, the team has been playing around with. Others may be released as fully realised animated series. As to which of the animations falls into which camp, stay tuned over the coming months for updates. One thing is for sure – there’s some incredible Warhammer content coming to your screens. The first project due for completion is, of course, Angels of Death. We don’t know about you, but we think it’s coming along rather nicely. Written by the Warhammer Story Forge (more on those fine wordsmiths soon), Angels of Death is being animated in collaboration with Richard Boylan and Boman Modine. Some of you may remember Richard and Boman’s striking and atmospheric work from their fan-made animation of the Helsreach audiobook. Alongside the Warhammer Story Forge, the team is creating something really special – an all-new Blood Angels story brought to visceral life. This is the 41st Millennium you always dreamed of seeing on screen. You won’t have to wait long for more. The first full trailer for Angels of Death will be with us in January – due to debut at the Las Vegas Open Warhammer Preview, it will then be brought to you right here on warhammer-community.com shortly afterwards. Subscribe to our newsletter and stay tuned to the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Révélation Pas de commentaires en épinglés. FreDrich_00 Posté(e) le 28 mars 2020 Partager Posté(e) le 28 mars 2020 Citation 2:00PM – The Latest from Storyforge The Warhammer Storyforge has been hard at work on a number of exciting new projects. We’ve already seen the trailer for Angels of Death, featuring the Blood Angels doing what they do best – killing in the name of the Emperor and looking great while they do it. We’ll bring you more info on that soon, but now, we get to take our first glimpse at Death’s Hand. If you like the shadowy world of the agents of the Imperium, you’ll love this. Take a look. We’re working with another world-class animation studio on this project, and as you can see, Death’s Hand has a very different style and feel to Angels of Death. This tale is gory, grim and dark, full of the back-stabbing and clandestine skullduggery that happens in the unseen corners of the Imperium to maintain the power behind the Golden Throne. Death’s Hand is part of an animated anthology series called Hammer and Bolter – we’ll have more updates on that soon. For more on Death’s Hand, Angels of Death and all of the other exciting Storyforge projects in the works (not all of which have the word “death” in the title… probably) make sure that you follow the brand-new Storyforge Instagram page and sign up to our newsletter. FreDrich_00 Posté(e) le 4 avril 2020 Partager Posté(e) le 4 avril 2020 Citation 2:30pm – Angels of Death…in Spaaaaace! So, we’re going to go out on a limb here and assume that you folks love Space Marines, massive gribblies, and colossal space battles. Good news – the latest Angels of Death Trailer has all three! The Warhammer Storyforge and the Angels of Death team have been working tirelessly to ensure that the series brings all the epic, gritty darkness and sheer awesomeness of Warhammer 40,000 to life on the screen. Just look at those Tyranids! Just why are the Blood Angels battling in space? How cool is that Blood Angels ship commander? When will you get to see more? Stay tuned here and on the Warhammer Storyforge Instagram page for more news. Angels of Death isn’t the only project in the works right now. The Warhammer universes are amazing, diverse places and the Storyforge team are exploring all sorts of art and animation styles. So, if you fancy a tease of things yet to come, check out this amazing frame from a forthcoming project in a very different style. How incredibly lifelike is this shot? The matted blood, the faded tattoo? Check out the ageing on the scar bisecting her top lip. Speaking of her, our subject is clearly a Sister of Battle (the clue’s in the iconic haircut and tattoo)… but who or what is she fighting? And here’s something else to look at… Feel free to speculate about all these projects over on the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page. https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/4Be_-dU7hJ_5c-X7-1024x580.jpg Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
TheBoss™ Posté(e) le 18 avril 2020 Auteur Partager Posté(e) le 18 avril 2020 Citation Hammers, Bolters and Fleur-de-Lys In our last couple of previews, we showed you footage from forthcoming animated series, including Hammer and Bolter. This is an anthology show featuring tales from across the worlds of Warhammer. Each is written by different members of the Storyforge team, the creative minds behind our media projects, and animated in various styles. Today we have a VERY exciting first look at Hammer and Bolter episode 2. Written by George Mann, whom you may know from his Raven Guard stories for Black Library, this instalment stars the Sisters of Battle. These images give you a hint of the animation style you can expect from this episode, and a tantalising first glimpse at Sisters Elena and Agatha. Who could they be fighting? We look forward to finding out… It’s incredibly cool to be able to explore the stories of the Warhammer universes in different media, and there is lots (and lots!) more on the way. Follow the Warhammer Storyforge on Instagram to be among the first to see more from this, and our other media projects. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/04/18/warhammer-preview-3-revenge-of-the-previewgw-homepage-post-1fw-homepage-post-1/ Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

TheBoss™ Posté(e) le 17 octobre 2020 Auteur Partager Posté(e) le 17 octobre 2020 Citation Want to see what it looks like when an Avatar of Khaine stabs a Dreadnought right in the sarcophagus? Check this out… Woah! Where on earth are those Striking Scorpions off to in such a hurry? Who just punched the Interrogator in the face? Was that gigantic shelf of books part of a library from the 41st Millennium? So many questions – but whatever it all was, it looks awesome, and we can’t wait to see more! Over the past few months, we’ve teased work commencing on a couple of animated Warhammer shows here on the Warhammer Community site, and it’s exciting to see that work is continuing to progress despite the best efforts of the world to get in the way (COVID-19, we’re looking at you). The team behind Angels of Death are continuing to wow us with gritty, blood-spattered action as the Blood Angels come to life (and, everyone in the office agrees Livia Sorken is shaping up to be one badass ship’s captain). It looks like there’s going to be some seriously bloody combat in that show. Allow us to introduce Chaplain Raphael… and his plasma pistol. What happens next is too messy for this preview. Hammer and Bolter also continues apace – you can see shots from three episodes in this showreel. That pledge made earlier in the year, that this animated anthology would explore the breadth of the 40K universe, is definitely coming true! We’re probably speaking for everyone when we say, we need to see more Aeldari action. How fast do Aeldari sprint into battle? Well, this fast apparently… We even got a tiny glimpse of Interrogator – complete with gritty noir-style artwork. A grimdark detective story from the perspective of a hard-bitten Inquisitorial acolyte? Yes, please! The hallmark of a good Interrogator is their capacity to take a punch and keep on interrogating. Fact. All this Warhammer animation has us super-hyped. As soon as we have more to share, you can bet your favourite Gyrinx that we’ll be putting it right here – there’s no way we’ll be able to keep it to ourselves. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/10/17/the-warhammer-preview-online-sports-and-skirmish/ Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
TheBoss™ Posté(e) le 8 avril 2021 Auteur Partager Posté(e) le 8 avril 2021 Citation A New Angels of Death Trailer is Here, and It’s Crawling With Cultists You may remember from the wonderfully atmospheric teaser for Angels of Death that the series follows a band of Blood Angels as they hunt for their missing captain. But this is no straightforward search and rescue mission, as an insidious foe lurks in the dark. Get a closer look at exactly what the Blood Angels will be up against in the latest trailer for Angels of Death. That’s right, the noble sons of Sanguinius are about to find themselves face to face with the Genestealer Cults once again. Veteran hobbyists may remember the Blood Angels first clashing with Genestealers back in the original Space Hulk, and suffice to say they have not worked out their differences since then. It’s a pretty safe bet that the cultists have something to do with the Captain’s disappearance, given how often they’re found destabilising otherwise loyal Imperial planets. It won’t be long before the Angels of Death come knocking, though. We’ve been building up to the release of Angels of Death since the announcement in 2018, and rest assured your wait is nearing its end. If you’re craving more Imperial action in the meantime, don’t miss the fantastic screenshots from Altar of Wrath and Hammer and Bolter, or for the more xenos-inclined there’s the latest trailer for The Exodite to pore through. Oh, and if you can’t wait to dive into the world of Angels of Death, check out the epic soundtrack now. Whatever kind of Warhammer fan you are, we think you’ll find something to love. In fact, today we’re announcing a host of projects currently in the works. Let’s take a look at each of these shows in a little more detail. Hammer and Bolter An anthology of animated stories, featuring characters and factions from across the worlds of Warhammer, Hammer and Bolter has something for every Warhammer fan. Angels of Death Battered by warp storms, a small band of Blood Angels find safe harbour above an isolated world. All is not as it seems though, and soon the scions of Sanguinius have fresh foes to contend with. The Exodite In the midst of a brutal conflict, a T’au Stealth Team must undertake a critical mission against the armies of the Imperium. But the T’au aren’t the only force vying for dominion here, and powers far older and more mysterious are at play… Iron Within When beleaguered Astra Militarum forces face annihilation, they must turn to salvation from a most unlikely source. Is the enemy of your enemy really your friend? Altar of Wrath After a grinding war of attrition, the last Black Templars of a Crusade seek to strike a final, decisive blow against the Necrons to end the battle for good. Blacktalon A notorious hunter is unleashed to slay Sigmar’s most grievous foes – but the secrets of Neave Blacktalon’s past follow wherever she treads, even beyond death. Interrogator This tale of crime and heresy in an Imperial hive city explores the tragedy and horror that haunts the servants of the Inquisition. Interrogator blurs the lines between right and wrong… can the ends ever justify the means? Broken Lance Towering war machines stride the battlefield in a drama that sees the survivors of a once-noble house of Imperial Knights facing the sins of their predecessors. Pariah Nexus Explore silence and death in the darkest corners of the galaxy. As the Indomitus Crusade reaches the Pariah Nexus, strength and faith will be tested to the limit. High Lords Politics and treachery abound in the Imperial Palace. For ten thousand years, the High Lords have governed the Imperium in the Emperor’s stead. Such power brings corruption, intrigue, and danger to all who would grasp it. Astartes II Witness the forces of the Space Marines in unrelenting action as they take the fight to the enemies of Mankind. Of course, you’re probably wondering when and where you can watch all of these. Enter Warhammer+ This brand new service is heading your way in July, and you’ll be able to start watching all these shows, and more, on your favourite device – from your mobile or tablet to your 4K TV – thanks to a bespoke app created by a big name in VOD content. TheBoss™ Posté(e) le 10 juin 2021 Auteur Partager Posté(e) le 10 juin 2021 Citation Spilling the Beans: Discover the Secrets of Writing the Screenplays for Hammer and Bolter If you tuned in to our Warhammer Animation Preview Online to find out all about the upcoming shows on Warhammer+, you’ll be aware of Hammer and Bolter. Unlike many of the other animations that will soon be coming to Warhammer+, Hammer and Bolter is an anthology series that delves into the dark corners of Warhammer, presenting a multitude of different characters and factions. It kicks off with an entire season of Warhammer 40,000 shorts, and each episode offers a window into the grim darkness of the far future in all its bleak, dystopian glory. Don’t think for one moment that it’ll pull any punches, either – Hammer and Bolter is not for the faint-hearted! If it’s brutal action and merciless carnage you’re after, you won’t be disappointed. Something very exciting for Warhammer fans, is that this series has been penned by the Warhammer Storyforge team, which includes some of Black Library’s most popular authors. We recently managed to catch up with two of them to tell us more about what it was like to tell stories from the Warhammer universes in a new medium and from new perspectives. Warhammer Community: What kind of stories can we expect from Hammer and Bolter? John French: The defining feature of a Hammer and Bolter episode is that it shows you one of the many facets of Warhammer and will leave you with a sting of venom in its tail. The universes of Warhammer are huge. There’s an infinite number of characters, factions, stories, settings, and time periods. As such, there’s room for tragedy, horror, heroism, despair, humour, deceit, betrayal, murder, and salvation. Hammer and Bolter reflects that reality. We have stories set in the grinding lower levels of the Administratum, in the Ork-infested wastes of a war world, and yes, in the killing cold of Fenris. Similarly, we have stories about some of the most (in)famous characters of Warhammer – Commissar Yarrick, I’m looking at you – and about people who are some of the billions who will not be missed. Poor, poor, Adept Bole… George Mann: We wanted to represent lots of the different textures of the Warhammer universes, as well as a host of different story types, to show off the breadth and range of these fantastic settings. The first ones may all be set in the grim darkness of the far future, but we’ll be exploring the wilds of the Mortal Realms soon as well. Everything from blood-soaked war stories, to horror stories, to tales of faith, coming-of-age, corruption, humour, and brutality. And we’re telling them from a range of different perspectives, too, so this isn’t all from the Imperium’s point of view by any means. Hammer and Bolter is an anthology show in the truest sense of the word: we’re going to run the gamut of highs and lows. WarCom: How do you approach these scripts compared to writing a short story or novel? George: It’s an entirely different proposition, more akin to an audio drama or comic script, although we’ve been sure to leverage all our combined years of storytelling experience when working out the plots and characters for every tale. The key thing to remember is that an animation script is, by its very nature, a collaboration – not just amongst the writers themselves, but also between the writers and the animators. The script is not being written as much for the end user as it is to help guide the animators and artists to visualise the story in the best possible way. Not to mention the amazing voice casts we’ve been able to bring to bear on the scripts, too! So, for me, that was the biggest difference – a short story or novel is a fairly solitary experience with a single voice, while an animated episode is the work of a team. John: Short stories and novels let you expand on what is going on, and go into thoughts, hidden feelings, and how the characters see what’s happening. In a script, you only have two tools to tell the story: what the audience sees and what the characters say. That makes it very different. Every shot and word has to do a lot of work – it’s very concentrated storytelling. WarCom: Are you able to tell stories in Hammer and Bolter you couldn’t in print? George: Yes, absolutely! It’s key that you write for the medium you’re working in, and in this case it was an absolute joy to be able to write visually, thinking about ways to tell the story or get across plot points using images rather than words. I guess it’s a case of really leaning into that old adage ‘show, don’t tell’. That’s the fundamental difference between prose writing and screenwriting – you need to think about how it’s going to look as much as the words you’re putting into character’s mouths, and how those words, images, and the music and sound effects all interact. John: Animation lets you do so much! Juxtaposing a conversation over a gaming board between Njal Stormcaller and Ulrik the Slayer with a Space Wolf aspirant coming face to face with a beast out on the ice floes, or have a Necron literally freeze time… well you can’t do that in the same way in print. WarCom: Which is your favourite episode you’ve been involved in so far (spoiler free!)? John: My favourite would have to be… Artefacts, or maybe… No, I think I would have to say Kill Protocol. It’s an episode about a lone Techpriest and her Kastelan Robot crossing a war blasted wasteland in search of a lost piece of archeotech. The Adeptus Mechanicus is a part of Warhammer that I love, and seeing it on screen from imagining on the page was amazing. George: I’m a big fan of Bound for Greatness, the story of a lowly acolyte in a Librarium who starts to ask too many questions and gets an answer that he’s really not expecting… Or Cadia Stands, a look at the horror of trench warfare and what it means to be a Cadian in a universe where their homeworld has been utterly destroyed. To be honest, though – I think they’re all great! It’s a bit like asking me to choose between my favourite models… Thanks to both John and George for their insight. Hammer and Bolter is shaping up to be something very exciting for Warhammer fans of every stripe. To keep up to date with the latest news on Warhammer animations, subscribe to our animations newsletter so you’re always first to hear! Warhammer+ Approaches Of course, as we mentioned last week, Warhammer+ is far more than just the new home of all the upcoming animations… What’s more, we’ll soon be revealing more about what else you can look forward to on Warhammer+. All we’ll say for now, though, is make sure you’re free on the 23rd of June – we’ll see you then, to explain why Wednesdays are about to become your new favourite day of the week. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/06/10/spilling-the-beans-discover-the-secrets-of-writing-the-screenplays-for-hammer-and-bolter/ Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
